As part of my initial research I began by collecting a range of facts from a range of different sources and articles all of which discuss who Valentina Tereshkova is and her life story. Tereshkova is best known for being the first woman in space as she began by volunteering for the soviet space program after finding a love for parachuting. Valentina logged more space time then all the American missions combined up to that point, whilst also capturing photograph that identified the aerosol layers in the atmosphere. These are all big achievements for Tereshkova with her now being known as one of the key women of science.
