Moving Image and Life Drawing- Shadows

For this task we were to look at shadows and how they make the same colour appear different. For this We were to take a photo withintvense shadow and take swatches using photoshop. Using these colours we were then to recreate the photograph in our own illustration.
Above shows my first illustration I created. I kept the colours very simplistic without the natural blend as I really want to show the difference between the look of the colour when the shadow is applied. I felt I showed this successfully in may drawing, however, I would have liked to add the green from the cats in.

The second illustration task was to look at the midpoint between these tones of the colour and blending hem using the blender tool to help create a midtone which could help break up the harsh contrast. An example of me doing this is on the pot to which I show the mid colour representing the natural blend for the light and shadow meeting. If I was to improve something about this illustration I would play around with the idea of blending as I felt the block tones look too heavy.
